with all this swelling and keeping my feet up after 48 hours, it was still red and warm to the touch...my doctor told us to come in and after talking to me & my mother, he feels that I'd need an ultrasound to make sure I don't have blood clots. What an edgy, agonizing 2.5 hours it was! the US technician is a sweetie and in the middle of pushing gel around my leg (ouch!), didn't like the machine she's working with, as she was VERY partial to another machine that reads better. so she swapped machines and delivered the good news: I have no blood clots! SWEET!

but, I'm on doctor's strict orders to keep taking the antibiotic for the infection and keep my feet/knees elevated for 48 hours, so I'm stuck with Mom and Dad for another 2 days.

just thought I'd post something good for change!

So glad to hear you do not have a blood clot!!! Keep elevated and iced and take care of yourself. It's good to have good news!!!!!!!:thmb:

I'm sure you're not being a prob to Mom and Dad. Glad you had good results on your test.....now legs up and relax!!!! ((:0)!

Lori,
So glad that you have NO blood clots!!! Now you just have to follow Doctors orders and
get better!! So
1. take your antibiotics
2. keep your knees elevated
3. Breath in and out!!! And smile!!! It makes people wonder what you are up too!!!

I am very glad that you do not have a blood clot. I can imagine how nervous you must have been. Like you already are doing----ICE and ELEVATE. Glad that you have someone with you. My thoughts are with you----take care! Nancy

Oh bless you! Isn't it horrendous when you have something like that hanging over your head and then they have to go and get another machine? I feel for you. But it was good in the end, so keep you chin up! All will come good in the end.

Thank goodness it wasnt a blood clot,I did have a blood clot with my first kr and boy does it hurt. Now just keep your leg up and ice,you will be home in no time.

thanks guys! it all boils down to an infection, which made my knee, calf, ankle and foot swell up, which in turn is why the last 3 staples were bleeding. I'm taking antibiotics and resting with my feet up. I feel weird just doing nothing, but the bigger picture is that I get WELL.

Hi Loribee!
That must've been so scary! So happy to hear that all is well and clear of infection! And being at Mom and Dad's with your leg elevated, so like "comfort food" to me! Enjoy the time with them and hope you can find a good book or Netflix movie to while the time away!

Lori

Hope all turns out great for you. So glad no blood clot.
Enjoy your Mom and Dad while you have them.

Lori....your new mantra is. "Slow and steady win the race!!!". ((:0)

Hi Lori,

Whew! That's good news. Enjoy your time with your parents while you still have them. Follow doctors orders and stay off your feet and take your meds faithfully. I know how hard that is, but ultimately it's for the best. In the end, you will be thankful you did.

Blessings,

I can only imagine your anxiety as you waited for the test results. I am happy there are no clots. Now rest, take the antibiotics, and let your body heal.
