I had a left side hip replacement September two years ago. Now I have a hard time walking any distance. I have some pain in the hip and leg, not really hurtful just annoying, and I just get wore out, I have to stop and rest a bit before moving on. It’s like that leg just saps my energy. Also I can’t stand for any length of time before I need to sit down. The side approach was used for my surgery. My recovery seemed to be really good but now it has deteriorated. Sometimes I get a pain just above the knee. Any ideas or suggestions?

 Horseman and welcome to BoneSmart.

I could have written that! :chinstroke: I saw my Surgeon on Monday and had X-rays and all is where it should be. I have seen a Vascular Specialist and had an Eco Scan done on my leg ... all okay. I have no balance and cannot walk without an arm crutch. Monday my Osteo/Physio prescribed Betahistine, drug for balance disorders which can be caused by inner ear issues. I don't believe this is available in the US.

Perhaps you should see your Surgeon or regular doctor and get advice from them. I would like to hear of other suggestions.

In the meantime, keep safe.

@Horseman Welcome to BoneSmart! Can you give us the date of your surgery? It will help us advise you.

What is your activity level now? Are you doing anything new? Have you lifted anything heavy lately? Sorry for all the questions but I think we need a bit more information to give you any guidance.

My surgery was Sept. 1st 2017. I’m not as active as I would like to be, but I still work with people and their horses. Nothing really physical about that. I can’t think of anything heavy I have lifted.
