Hello I finally joined this discussion forum. I am 37 years old and had a THR three weeks ago today. I thought I had tried to post before but I only got an email from Josephine (not sure if it was in the discussion board). Anyways I had wanted to talk about my leg length discrepancy again because this has me completely stressed out. I read on one of the posts that once the muscles have time to shorten or get back to normal, the leg will be even with the other one again. The leg I had the surgery on is about a 1/2 inch longer now. I LOVE my shoes and can hardly stand to think that I'll never wear some of them again. Please I need a lot of reassurance from others who have been in my shoes. (no pun intended!) My PT talks about having my shoes built up like that's going to be my only option. I would like him to say that after the PT it will get back to normal. I would like to know what kind of time frame we're talking about for getting the legs back to normal again. I had THR so I wouldn't have to limp anymore and now my limping is worse!! I am so glad I found this forum; I love reading all the stories and would be happy to share my own insights as well.
Thanks,
