So I'm 12 weeks out I think from my LTKR. Can go up stairs no problem. Going down
I'm still a bit unsure of myself unless I can hold the railing. Stiffness in the
morning but other than that smooth sailing except for one nagging pain.
It happens when I cross my leg to put on my socks in the morning. Left leg
(the operated one) on top of right knee and the outside of my left knee and below
burns. At no other time do I feel this. Not even doing weights or range of
motion stretches. Is it common or is it me. I do have quite of bit of numbness
in that area so I'm wondering if I have a nerve caught in some scarring or something.

Hey TKR date brother, we are 13 weeks as of yestreday! Goes quickly doesn't it? I still do stairs on at a time most of the time, but sometimes I feel comfortable going one leg over the other. Both knees though.
My scars sometimes hurt, and leg crossing I would call tender. Just bending to do socks is also a little painful until I get it into position and leave it there. Then I'm OK. I still have alot of numbness around the knees aside from the scars, but it feels like sleeping body part when it wakes up, not painful, so I'm sure much of the feeling will return.

EDK, I'm about 3 months out and I had pain like that at about the point where you are. It just eventually went away. I didn't do anything special for it except continue to work my knee as much as possible. Good luck!!!

You might need to look at some I.T. band stretches. I had that and started doing some specific stretches. It worked and feels much better.

Doug: I know IT band stretches for skiing - will give it a shot.

Jennifer: 13 weeks - so I can't count either

Hi Jamie, missed ya!

Thanks, Jenn.....nice to be missed. Our company is all gone and we're starting to get back to normal chaos around here. Back to the old remodeling projects! It never ends....

Hi, Karen....thanks! I guess I'm getting a little like others on the forum....back to livin' and it's summer and all....many more things to do outside and less time inside at the computer. Doesn't mean that I don't still love you all....I DO!!!

Nah, Ed, not a counting problem, just a 'it's so good don't always think about the knee' thing. The only reason I knew exactly is because my surgery I marked out the post op weks in increments of 2. If I haven't recently looked, I have to think and count it out. Loosing track, it's a good thing.

Indeed it is! A sign of true progress. Aawww!
