Hi Everyone,

I had my rt tkr done on November 27th. I was expecting a fast recovery due to my age (41). Well what a shock I had. For my surgery I had an epidural with sedation, the sedation did not last too long and I woke up for a very short time. I did not feel anything but I heard things. My hospitial experience was not the best. I had 2 diffrent roomates and they both had alshimers. I was very upset with the physicial therapy department. all they would do is yell at me if I could not do it (lifting my leg, showing me how to get in and out of bed ect, ect.) Thanks to my mom who is a nurse showed me. I went to rehab center and the PT department was WONDERFUL they worked with me and were very patient also. I cant say enough positive about them. I was only there 3 1/2 days. I had to leave earlier than I wanted to. My 10 year old daughter had serious melt down and needed me back home. The rehab arranged for PT as an out patient. The only comment they made to my Doctor is I was not socilizing with the residents. Hello I am 41 and most of the residents were 80+. I am sorry if I was not intersted in Gramdma's coffee club. Since I have been home I have had a set back my knee swelled quite a bit lost range and my quads stopped fireing. Now I am back on the road to recovery. Loving my new knee and excited to start living my life again. I wish I found a doctor who listened to me years ago. I will not hesitate to have my left one done when it is needed.

What we Brits would refer to as "a bit of a curate's egg"!! (see here)

Sorry you had such a rough time in hospital but pleased the rehab people made up for it.

Also delighted that you have made up ground enough to feel good for Christmas. Hope you have a good one!!
