Hello everyone,

I have been talking about MRSA and just when I thought everything was looking up, I found out that I have MRSA deep under the big toe. I could see the black; I had smashed it three years ago and figured it was just "one of those things", but it started hurting. I went to the podiarst sp? and she cut away at the toenail and did a culture. Bingo... MRSA. :sigh:

I called the OS and told them the the news and they said it looked like it would be awhile before I could consider a TKR now.

I guess the best news is that my pain level has gotten alot better. I am walking without crutches, my walker, and even my braces most of the time without too much pain. That has to be the best news of all. God is taking care of me. :D

I will continue to keep in touch with everyone! This board is the best and I have recommended to a couple of friends that are considering TKR's.

Keep up the great work!

Sonja

Sonja I am so sorry about the postponement. I understand it and am living in it right.
now concerning my back.
I hope the pain level stays low or non existant.'

Sonja...so sorry to hear about your surgery being postponed. Get the MRSA taken care of and reschedule the surgery. Glad to hear you aren't in much pain.:thmb:

Sonja,

So sorry to hear about your problems with MRSA. It is very wise of your doctor to hold off. I was talking to someone today who's aunt had to have a revision because of MRSA. 3 months with a rod and no bending of the knee. YIKES!!!!!

Seems the Lord is providing with the pain being alleviated. His grace is always sufficient and His mercy never ending! Praise His Holy Name for His goodness in seeing you through this time of trial and tribulation!

Keep us posted as you progress and if you are totally healed and don't need TKRs or if you will get them.

Blessings

Well, I am so sorry for the toe MRSA. What a disappointment for you. I hope you continue on the path to health and that your pain will be bearable.

Please continue to update us, we care about you and your knees!

Sincerely, Kimberly

Hi Sonja, I'm Sorry about the postponement, I hope this clears up quickly for you!
Thoughts and prayers for you, and Best Wishes!

Oh you poor gal! That's just awful.

Hi Sonja Im so sorry to hear your surg was put off but its for the best what a mess that might have been.....glad your feeling a lil better i hope you do keep in touch.......)

Sonja, you are a trooper.....these ups and downs must be very frustrating! It sounds like you have a great attitude. All you can do is hunker down and get rid of the infection. I pray it will disappear soon so that your surgery can be rescheduled.

:D Hello everyone,
Thanks for the well wishes! I am already on the road to recovery again. I am on heavy antibotics again and I am already feeling better. My husband and I are planning on taking a trip to Colorado this weekend to get me out of the house. My nephew plays in his last football game of his life, and we would like to see him play. I am so excited about getting out of town! I think that should be worth a real immune system boost in itself, just spending some time with my hubby!

Sonja

Good for you! It's always wonderful for the body to give your spirit a mental boost like that! Have fun!!!

I might have mentioned it before, but can't remember if I have, but anyway......when on antibiotics you should eat yogurt or kefir every day or take a good quality refrigerated probiotic capsule to keep the good bacteria in the intestine and prevent yeast infections.

Thanks Pat,

Yes I am taking your advice about yogurt and probotics. I have heard a lot of good things about yogurt and although I wasn't eating it regularly; I am now.:D

Thanks for the help,

Sonja

:wink:I am feeling much better! The antibotics are "kicking butt" or in this case "toe":hehe: and my outlook has never been better! My knees are not hurting much anymore and so with all of the positive things God is doing in my life it looks like I will be bale to wait until January without too much discomfort.:thmb: I am psyched and can't believe that I can actually walk across room and not hear my knees popping or feeling pain with every step! God is giving me extra time to heal and I am so grateful.
Life is livable again :D

Sonja

Sonja,
It sounds to me like all the prayers sent up for you are being sent back to you in a wonderful way!!! I will keep praying that you keep on this way!!!

Thank you so much Don. I truly believe that prayer is one of the greatest weapons we have in our war against sickness and disease.:D

I am continuing to feel better each day and I know God will see me through the situation with my health no matter if it means eventually going ahead with the knee replacements or complete healing.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and I will continue to stay in "the loop." "Ya'll" are teaching me so much! (Can "ya" tell I'm from TX?):hehe:

Take care and God bless,

Sonja
