MUA knee so stiff<<

Wondering ? been suffering from a skin condition, Doctor diagnosed me with Atopic Dermatitis , could this be related to my knee replacement has I never had it before ,

My first thought is that it’s not directly from your knee replacement, but, and I’m not a medical person, but possibly it could be from all the stress you have because of your painful knees.

Also, at any time, we can develop issues and this could be that, too. Did they give you any suggestions to help it?

Today my knee gave away - ended up falling flat on my face, noticing my leg wobbles after awhile - with sharp pain- pain is constant- but no good talking to Surgeon has will be told got to wait

That’s disgusting treatment by NHS. Try to get hold of your GP, tell him exactly what has happened to you for the past two years and ask to be referred to a hospital that can sort you out. I believe a couple of the moderators on here are British and know of good revision specialists.
If that’s unsuccessful, then try your MP, the press, anything. How can you possibly spend four years of your life suffering after what would seem to be a failed operation.

:holysheep:Nightime getting unbelieveably painful if a moves to my side in bed the there is a extreme sharp pain on the medial side so much so it nearly shoot me out of my bed, its constantly waking me up and then following day I can hardly put any weight on it. Pain is now a daily thing for me and its sometthing I learning to live with,

Any ideas-I know there is constant pain in my knees all the time rest or not, but night times if I move my leg just a little--- Bang--- there is a sudden extremely painful jolt that wakes me up in the knee - this happens every night without fail and Ithen ries to move it - its so stiff and painful ,I cannot put any weight on it, having the GP phonr me wednesday for even more stronger pain killing tablets,:beg:

When your gp rings, tell it how it is. Say that you just can’t go on like this for another two years. Exaggerate your pain, anything to get it across how bad you are feeling. You’ve been through enough.

@bland9 ,
The emoticon you left says it all, you are crying (even if it is on the inside) with the pain and loss of the ability to do what you enjoy. When they ask for a pain number tell them a 9-10, that you are miserable.
Tell your GP what you have told us, do not understate your pain.

Thankyou for all your kind remarks- the pain now is off the scale 10 times what is was I first left hospital when first had the knee replace if fact - the pain was a doddle compare to this- sleeping a full night is out of the question, just wish I could live a normal life- sometime feel I be better off without the leg-silly I know but its how it feels sometimes.

My heart goes out to you. Why not try to get a face to face with your doctor and really go all out for help with this, not just more painkillers. Do you know that you can get referred to any surgeon in the U.K.?
Good luck with your phone call tomorrow, do make sure that you are listened to. Keep us posted.

Well ----------------- DR Phoned -I explain how bad my pain was stating out of 10 its 12- He was stump what to do has my current meds not working- he suggested more physio to help with pain and also will perscribe some short term use of Amitriptyline- not sure if this is going to work but will give a try- any thoughts

Don’t do any physio that hurts or makes your pain worse later on. Ask physio to do massage or an ultrasound treatment or a tens unit, to help reduce pain. I don’t think exercises are going to help you, so I wouldn’t do those, if it was me.

Make sure you tell your physio how much pain you are in, hopefully they will advocate for you with a doctor. Ask for a different doctor than the one who did your surgery.

bland9,
Ask for a PT trained in Pain NeuroScience Education, they may be able to help you to decrease your pain thermostat.
I agree with Jockette, don't do anything that increases your pain or swelling.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with all of this pain......

Thankyou for all your kind advice- Has for physio- I have no intentions to work the knee especially past experiences - picturing how I sat on the couch and my leg placed on a chair and a physiotherapist pressing all there weight on the knee to try straighten it- perhaps hoping to CLICK into position - even the surgeon while having a MUA coud not strraighten it- both Physiotherapists discharging myself stating they could not do anymore with the knee- so having another trying to sort pain relief -really dont hold out any hope- afraid I going to live with the chronic pain until new surgery is done on the knee- which is approx 2 years time or when I called, hopefully quicker than 2 years:headbang:

Maybe I’m missing something, but why do you have to wait two years? Why can’t you see a different orthopedic Dr than the one who did your surgery?

@Mchobson -I am seeing another surgeon from the one whom done the surgery on my knees- its just the hospitals here in uk the NHS is so full on the waiting lists due to Covid 19 pushing back all ops - so no matter who I see i will still have to be put on the waaiting list- so I afraid i got to live with a failed TKR, geting worse each day with chronic pain,

One thing I not doing is taking anymore then dreadful Amitriptyline tabs never felt so sick and tired - now i know why there used for pain killing is that you so tired and sick to worry about the knees:dubious:

@bland9 I am miserable just reading about what you are going through, I can't imagine how you are feeling. I don't understand the waiting 2 years thing at all. Is it because there is such a long list of people ahead of you? It would seem to me that your case is an emergency, no one should be asked to live with what you are going through for 2 years. I'm so sorry! Sending love.
