MUA knee so stiff<<

We will support you here but urge you to find a new doctor to look at your knee. Something is definitely wrong. But we are here for you!

Thankyou for all your support , I really need it at the moment has the stiffness and pain is very bad and getting worse and the worst part is cannot see a surgeon until the end of may due to covid restrictions.
my leg feels like a brick when trying to lift it up while resting on bed,
will speak to my DR as now need more serious pain killers, :bawl:

Some thoughts.
  • Here is the place to moan.
  • With that much pain, I'd be screaming at someone, anyone.
  • Without appropriate pain relief, you are fighting a losing battle.
  • Can you get access to anything with Lidocaine in it? It's a pain reliever that hospitals use.

I’m happy to hear that you will be having your office visit in early April!

Sorry all but just feeling sorry for myself, pain is terrible at moment but just be getting down thinking the last two years have been so poor regarding my TKR, not been able to garden, even simple meditation retreats are impossible, walking almost been impossible unable to walk with straight leg cannot bend it more than 70 degrees, even when had a MUA the surgeon at the time could not straighten leg. you would had thought he would had flagged the problem up straight away, complained real pain on the medial side, Sorry I'm moaning but my life at the moment is hardly worth living

@bland9 It really sounds like you need to find a revision specialist. They are experts at problem TKRs. If you could tell me what hospitals are near you and who you saw for your TKRs in the past I might be able to help you find someone.

@Jaycey Currently I attending Norfolk and Norwich University hospital , had my original surgery at Spire hospital Norwich
In my own opinion I do believe I'm suffering from could be Arthrofibrosis all the symptoms point to this , have been told it could be but again this but never confirmed, when had my MUA the first surgeon who did it stated he could not straighten leg, though I think he stated he obtain 110 rom ?
Symptoms are cannot straighten leg, rom is about 70/75. leg is not hot, top of knee is rather pronounced. Also pain is keenly felt back of knee when even attempting to bend knee, plus if I knock my foot back shooting pain is felt. When walking any distance my bend decreases, with increased pain,

It sounds to me that you have a wrong size plastic insert or implant. I could very well be wrong, that is what it sounds like to me.

I hope you can see a revision specialist. They are used to seeing problem knees and can give you an idea what needs to be done to fix your knee.

Yes I did think of that and you could be correct but would this effect Rom too, looking at many similar problems with knees especially looking at other members on here so I am armed with as much info as possible when seeing Surgeon on Monday

ROM is the range of motion for both the bend and the extension. Yes, an incorrect spacer size would affect both the bend and the extension.

Really feeling anxious and abit of why bother , on seeing the surgeon tomorrow, yes I'm in great pain and have been for so long ,friends state the knee has put an extra 5 years on me , the feeling I just get fob off again , though part of me really hope something done, :oyvey:

You have the appointment, I'd keep it. Go in with an open mind and just see what the surgeon has to say. I know I've been discouraged and not wanting to see the surgeon, but personally I think its worth it to go.

Would it help you to write down all of your questions? I know I sometimes get in the office and my mind doesn't recall everything I wanted to ask about. My surgeon likes lists though.

Let us know what you decide.

@bland9 ,
I agree with Eaglemom, write down a list and write down the answers during your appointment so you can remember what was said.
All the best for your appointment, keep us posted on how you are doing.

Attended hospital appointment today , high anxiety today dont know why as generally ok at appointments , Today I was seen by a senior registrar, she thinks I got arthrofibrosis though not sure but signs point to that so she stated that I will have a arthroscopic procedure another MUA, and biopsy taken to explore what's going on, blood sample was taken at the appointment , not sure when I got to have the procedure done but I guess it will , All at a time when I be moving house in approx 4 weeks time, like to know anyone who been through this and any advice

I'm so sorry to hear about all the pain and stiffness you've been having ~ just read last 2 of your pages. I'm around 16 weeks post broken femur surgery, with stiffness in my back and operated leg and last couple of nights couldn't get comfortable in bed ~ might sleep on sofa tonight.
I've started taking Tylenol as of today and it helped, although I realize my pain is nowhere near the severity of yours. Have you tried walking with one of those walking poles (activator)? I have found it really helps me to walk, suggested by p.t., putting less weight on bad leg.
I hope you have some help and support at home, especially with the move. Stay safe.:prayer::console2:

@liam2015 thankyou for your kind thoughts, regarding the idea of walking poles , I have been walking now for nearly two years with my walking crutches, this is the only way I could be able to walk and get out of the house, been suggested by some I be better off getting a mobility scooter , :vespa:
