The picture on left was my Left knee about 10 days post surgery. Right picture is Right knee 5 days post surgery. Left knee never exhibited much bruising and was "weep free". Right knee incision has always been damp with obvious bruises. Same surgical team. Work done 6 weeks apart. Camera zoom was not equal, viewer should imagine knees to be same size
This morning before seeing the OS. The right knee is where I 'popped' a stitch in the incision & the OS came around and fixed me up.
Week 2 Day 14
Illustrates the 'ridge' that is created. Stitches are passed through the skin and tightened, causing the ridge. The main incision thus has all the tension taken out of it and can knit together. Clever innit?
Showing the size of the ridge against my daughter's finger
I had LTKR on Dec 8, 2011.
I had 15 staples and the incision is about 6".
I am 'now' 4 weeks post op and still have my butterfly stitches on...but from what I can see in between....the scar look very good. I'm quiet impressed...so far.
