Hi there

I'm enquiring on behalf of my mother who is due to have a knee replacement soon but has been given the opportunity of joining a research group - the hospital are doing trials on a type of joint - ROCC - which they haven't used before but which have been getting positive results in France. Mum wouldn't know which joint she will get - the current type or the new one until 1 year after her op - as they don't want to influence her opinion - she will have more xrays and i think 2 more visits than normal during the post op year. She is 68, quite overweight and more than a little apprehensive. She's a very sensible woman who would like to know more about her options before deciding what to do.
Can anyone give me any info on the ROCC joint? I have searched the internet but can't find anything.
Any assistance gratefully received.
Thanks
J

Well, you won't find out anything about it if it's still under review, J. She has a bit of a conundrum there. A chance. A BIG chance. If she has the courage to go for it, well, all well and good. But there are no guarantees that it will be a good choice.

A knee's not something I would mess with. I'd want one with a definable track record if it was me. Yes siree!!
