My knee did great on the drive to New Mexico. We drove 7 1/2 hours on Wed. and 6 hours on Thursday. We got to New Mexico on Thur. around noon.
We had a great time. Loved the Plaza (the native indians sit in front of the governors palace and sell their goods). Churches are beautiful. All the homes are made of adobe
and amazing. I am so proud. I was able to walk around the plaza go in lots of shops ( yes spent too much) had brunch. It was about 4 1/2 hours. Have not done that in a while without resting every 30 mins or so because of knee.
But the knee was great. I iced most of the the time on the drive and would go back to hotel and ice whether I needed it or not. I only took a pain pill in the morning and night.
Had very little pain if any.
We drove about 10 hours yesterday and the knee did OK.
Was beginning to feel a little disconfort but we stopped and got a hotel. We drove just 3 hrs this morning. But we did not want to push the knee and hubby was tired. He did most of the driving there and back, but I did drive several hours.
I am looking forward to vacation the end of Aug. Not sure where we are going but know I will be able to get around.
Still have the stiff feeling a lot esp. when not moving such as sitting at the desk too long. Also getting out of a chair with out arms, esp. if it is a low chair is a problem, but hope to be able to do this soon. I find I have to tell my brain yes I can do this, as I hesitate thinking I can't do it.
But all in all it was a great few days. The weather was so much cooler and it rained some but not a lot and I loved it.
