[Bonesmart.org] Just one question

Cross my heart, I do not want to sound like gloom and doom. In fact I have put off asking because I know we want to keep this fourm up beat. But I just do not know anyone else to ask.
I am having alot of pain since last Friday in my Right Knee I though that by now 7 weeks today that it would be getting better every day but I feel that I am doing something wrong here. It hurts behind the knee when I am not even walking on it and below the knee cap on the inside of the leg when I walk it, can become so mean that it does not want me to put weight on it. Is it just haveing a bad week? Or do I need to tell OS about it Friday before he does the left knee??

^i^

Oh you poor, dear,Calling! Since I'm a hippie,& I can't offer you any medical advice, only support! If it was me, I would definitely tell your OS when you see him right before your impending surgery! I can only imagine how your freaking out right now!!!!

Love your cartoon! :)

I'll be thinking good thoughts
& sending positive energy your way! All the best!!!!

Calling, seven weeks is still VERY early in the recovery process. Pain is not unusual. My doctor told me if pain appears in different places, it is probably swelling in the soft tissues. But, frankly, if the pain concerns you, you should call your doctor. Are you taking something for it and icing and elevating? You know you still need to be doing that even though you feel like you ought to be just about well by now....

Jamie & Judles,
Thanks for you help. I just was not sure why the pain was comming back so strong.
But it is what it is.

Would calling your OS be to delay the other knee replacement? Some people do get both done at once.
I know you will be ok. If you need reassurance, I would call.
Yes it is very early and it is a roller coaster ride to recovery
My prayers are coming your way
Judy

Yes, but......are you taking any pain meds? Icing? Elevating?????

Jamie got it right - odd aches and pains of varying severity aren't unusual.

However, yes you should tell your surgeon before getting the other one done and I would even phone his office and see what he has to say. Just to be on the safe side.

In the meantime, ice, elevate (if swollen), rest and exercise, and medicate.

And if this forum ever abandoned serious questions in favour of the 'upbeat' I'd quit as it would then be failing to fulfil its objectives.
