Just got home today after RKTR surgery on the 18th. I think I'm doing pretty well, I am experiencing a tremendous amout of pain aftert I stand after being on my back or sitting in my recliner.. Is this normal and how long till it gets better?

Welcome to the "other side"! I am glad you are doing well.

Yes, that is totally normal, albeit painful. I remember it well. It lasted for a few days for me, then passed and did not come back.

Best of luck to you for a speedy recovery.

Welcome back Mike. I bet you are glad that it is done. Now you have to work hard on recovery. Remember that riding season will soon be upon us.
Cheers, Ross

Welcome home! I assume a home PT has been arranged by your OS. My home PT came a few days after I got home. The exercises the PT gave me, really helped with the pain and stiffness.

Just hang in there and in a few days you will see the pain lessen and you will begin to get better in leaps and bounds. It is hard at first but it is important to keep moving and remember the essentials, ice, elevate, rest and take those stool softeners. Glad you are on the other side, it will get better quickly now. Good luck, Rowdy

Yes, the first few days are tough but you'll get through them.
