Hi pamo, sorry to hear what you are going through. Did anyone tell you why your operated knee isn't doing well?

Have you been to a different doc for a second opinion?
Welcome to the forum family---we are glad that you have found us and we will do everything we can to help give you the advice that you need.

As for the first TKR, where does it hurt---from where is the pain emanating---what have the OS's said about why your legs are burning and swollen?

I would also urge you to seek a second opinion on your first TKR, so that you can get to the root of the trouble so that you can regain your normal and pain-free lifestyle.

I am going to tag our Forum Nurse Administrator, @Josephine---she can give you the very best advice.
I'm so sorry to hear about your problems. I totally agree you need a second opinion. I found myself still having pain after my TKR and had gone back to my doctor who kept telling me everything was alright. I finally went to another doctor who found a problem and now I am planning to get my knee redone so I can get on with my life. I hope you're feeling better soon.
You need a second opinion from a surgeon who specializes in revisions, and not in anyway associated with your present surgeon. They have the experience to determine what is going on with your TKR.
Ask to be seen by a pain specialist, ask your GP, to get to the bottom of what else is causing your pain from your TKR.
Hi Pamo,

So glad you are reaching out. Please don't give up and please let people help you get through this. It can be gotten through! Does your primary care doctor know how you are feeling? Especially how hopeless and fed up you feel? If you haven't had a frank talk with her or him, PLEASE do. It's really important. The pain of this sounds like it has really ground you down. Please answer the moderators so they can help with more advice about your knees.

Lots of hugs to you! I have no advice (am 8 weeks post-op myself from my first TKR) other than the folks on this forum are WONDERFUL and so very helpful.

You are so lucky to have found this site (I know I was!)!! Everyone is so helpful and kind ... stay connected!!
It sounds like you definitely need to get a second opinion about what is going on. You should not be feeling as you are. Keep reaching out for the help you need ... Sending prayers for you!
@pamo can you give us some details like what medication you are taking and how often? Are you icing and elevating your knee?

We are here to help in any way we can. I do hope you will come back and tell us more.
Sending you a big hug pamo. You're in the right place. This forum is wonderful and you'll get all the right advice on here. Keep coming back, things will get better and you WILL get your life back.
I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with your knees. Have you had any metal allergy testing done? I feel that it should be protocol for any joint replacement. Especially now that the number of joint replacements have skyrocketed over recent years. I hope you can find some answers and some relief.
