I had my right THR on May 9th and they've just scheduled my left THR for June 20th, pre-op on Monday next week. I will be so glad to have this all behind me! Same surgeon, same hospital, and hopefully same rate of recovery! I'm doing well, still need to rest during the day so still not back to work full time. I had no idea I'd need to be out of work for so long when this started, but it needs to be done and I'm looking forward to a better quality of life!!

And I'm so glad I now have a better idea of what to expect, so it won't be so overwhelming this time.

Congratulations on getting this second surgery scheduled. Soon you will be past all this hospital stuff and on your way back to enjoying life again. It does help to have been through the process before, but be sure you don't try to compare your first hip to this one. Surgeries and recoveries can be very different....even with the same doctor and hospital. Hopefully this one will be smooth sailing for you, though.

You know that we'll be here for you with whatever support you need. Best of luck to you!!

Just got the call from the hospital need to be there at 10:30 tomorrow morning. For the first one I had to be there at 6 AM - though I hated getting up at 4, it was nice to get in so early.

@cpollock, doing ok but worn out for the moment. My stepsister came and took me out to lunch and I had a fair amount of pain getting back to the car. I think it's still just incision/swelling normal stuff but am now in my recliner with a fresh ice pack and will take it easy the rest of the day!

    How are you doing?
