I have had really good luck with wearing Asics running shoes. I tend to get a good bit of medial/lateral movement in my ankle and also supinate with my right foot. Luckily there's a running store nearby and they did a very good job assessing me and fitting me in the right style shoe that supports my Loosey Goosey ankle. I am on my feet for many hours in my line of work and I wear these, in different styles daily. So, I had a new pair waiting after the surgery and they feel great.
Do you happen to know a certain brand or style shoe that helps support your feet? I knew I needed a new pair, didn't want any old habits carried over into the new hip.
The ones I have now are so nice and cushioned, too. Asics Gel Ecite 4. They aren't their newest model so it keeps it more affordable. I am guessing that they would be good for most people, actually. Many of my clients, after seeing mine, have ordered them for themselves and love them, too. But that being said, I'm sure another sturdy type of walking shoe would work, too. (obviously I can't give a short answer)
