Re: Our Jo

Had a phone call from Josephine 7.20 pm - she had just been wheeled out of recovery room
and decided to give me a call to let me everything has gone well.
She said she was numb from the waist down and was feeling rather 'zonked'

She asked me to let you all know.

Janis (aka Jean - Josephine's sister)

Janis (Jean).... Thanks for posting a quick status report. Now tell that sweetheart of a sister of yours to rest and concentrate on healing and NOT to worry about us here on the forum. We all love her and want her well soon.

To forum members: This is the thread where I'll post any news I get about Josephine following her surgery. Sounds like things are going really well so far! Hooray!!!

Thanks Janis & Jamie! Her chicks wil be so happy
Sooooo happy!!! Send our love of course!!!!

Whoo Hoo!!! Calling! You sound so much better!
What does LMHO mean again? I guarantee
You it's NOT what just popped into my head!!!
:)

I had to laugh out loud when I saw that guy dancing in the tu-tu. How funny. So glad Jo is now on the road to recovery. We ALL have much to be thankful for...

Judles,
I am not allowed to say LMAO(laughing my a** off) so I always Laughing my Hinnie off!!!!

Thank you to everyone for all the caring thoughts. My PT said this is going to get better it is just going to take longer. And you all know me I said how LONG??? And he said it will start to feel better in a Month!!!!! So as long as I have a date to shoot for I will try and be brave. I am going to ask OS's PA why I can hardly stand to put weight on it. And sometimes I plain just can not!!!! And then the tears come because it hurts so much to try and walk. Can you all believe that with the right leg I was doing the Super bowl at 2 weeks???? And now at almost 2 week I still can not hardly get around??? It is all so weird!!! But you all need not worry I will over come this. Or it will get fixed what ever comes first~!!!! LOL

Thanks for the update on our dear Jo. Give her our love and lots of hugs.
It's not the same on the forum without her wonderful posts.

I have taken Jean's post and posted it over on ChristFirst. Will check back here now and then to keep them all updated.
Hey the "happy dance" you guys are crazy!!! Nice but crazy!!

Yep....crazy and PROUD of it, I'm afraid!!! The laughter and fun is part of what makes this forum work. As one who has been through TKR recovery, sometimes you really need to laugh and just be a little silly to get through some of the tough times.

Glad you can keep Jo's friends on the other forum updated too. Thanks!!!

Update on Josephine.

The patient ate a hearty breakfast
2 Weetabix
Scrambled eggs
and 2 slices of toast!

I am sure she feels a lot better now after her long day
without anything to eat yesterday :)

I think the physio is coming to help her to walk a few steps this afternoon.

All your messages have been passed on to her and she says to thank you all!

Jean

p.s. CallingAA - hope you improve very soon - you will get there in the end!
(which is very easy for me to say when I have not been through it)

Also - thank you Becauser -
I have sent a pm to RW on Christ First but didn't know where to post on the forum.

That's good news Jean. Thanks for keeping us posted. Hope the steps this afternoon are the first to a speedy recovery. Love to Jo and you take care too. Life is often harder for the carer than the patient- or so my husband tells me!! Linda x

PS Have I got it right and you're the sister that's going to be looking after Jo?

WOW!!! Such a great report about Jo!
How are her spirits? Can't wait to hear
How her physio is going! Tell her we all
Miss her & that she'll be home before she
Even knows it! :)
