How could I just over night get Bursitis on top of my Left TKR?? Any idea as to what I have done? It is making walking on it quite painful. But this knee has been the fun one! NOT.
Just like any sprained or torn muscle, Angel. When you say 'overnight' remember you are talking about 6-8 hours. Plenty of time for an inflammation to rev up the last few notches into red hot and painful!
Judy,
Right now I am just dealing with the pain when I have to move around on it.
And praying I can get more then a hour sleep at a time. Other then that I was not told what to do about it at PT. But when I walk it feels like something in stuck to the knee cap and the skin over it pinches it with very movment I make. And I did not do anything to it! Went to sleep at 1 woke up a 2:30 hurting so I decided to come down the stairs and could hardly make it down the stairs. Pt said the Bursitis sack was full and that is why it hurt. Other then that he did not tell what to do about it. So I have really been working it trying to get the to get the fluid empty out. Asked If it could be fixed with a pin he just laughed and said no. But I am starting to think this might be a good idea.
Hi Angels! How long since you had you TKR? I am just trying to get information before I have mine on Tuesday? Is the burrsitis a result of the surgery?
No no pin...Hi Im back...I am so sorry you are hurting.. Maybe just relax it for awhile...I missed you all, Really just pamper youself for awhile...You have been thru much more and come out better for it and helped and helping so many people..you deserve the help. Please hang in there. I hope you get some sleep. I will be on later if you cant sleep...We are all here for you...
Calling....it's the same procedure for this as any other inflammation....rest, ice, elevate, and take an anti-inflammant. If you're not doing all that, DO....it will most likely hurry up the healing.
Calling--
I was so sorry to see this thread! You've already had enough trouble with this knee. I'll keep healing thoughts and prayers headed out to you.
Blessings,
Irene
Angel, have you contacted your OS and asked him about this?
Perhaps he would aspirate the bursa for you and/or inject it with some steriods to aid healing. In the meantime, what pain meds are you taking and how often? Some NSAIDs might help in addition as they are anti-inflammatory and could help it to calm down.
