Hi All, Last Saturday I wrote and its somewhere in space dont you all love when that happens.
Well here I lay with my old faithfull and I would love to say I feel great but I still have this low grade fever every afternoon until bed time and dont you know when the visiting nurse comes in the morning I am normal and I do tell her to come after 3pm. Then I have this pain that when I put or lay my knee straight its like right down my scar but hurts like the dickens, then there is a pain that starts at the top and goes down to the middle of my leg, isnt the rod longer in a revision? Whats up with these pains? Last why does my knee only swell up on the outside more on the top. Well its nap time I got to say Other then all that ...I am great and got to say I am happy for Cindy and to everyone thats doing great too!

Peggy,
Sorry to hear that you are still running a fever in the afternoon. And that you are still having pain. What does the nurse say when you tell her this??? Does she have any idea why you are getting a fever later in the day? If she does not have a answer maybe she could talk to someone who would know.

She justs saids that it could just be my body and when I ask her what does she means by that I dont get a answer.Sometimes I think that maybe since I worked with her that I should had the answers. It could just be my body going throught my hot flashes and the knee, Now I do get enough rest just with the pain and fever. I do see my OS next week lets see what he has to say.

Peggy,
I am glad that you see your OS next week. Then maybe you will get some answers!!
I will look forward to hearing what he has to say!

Peggy,
I wouldn't figure it would be hot flashes would it? Don't hot flashes come and go quickly? You are hot after 3 and goes until the evening. I don't know much about hot flashes...never had one...yet. I hope your pain goes away soon. Instead of waiting until next week to SEE your OS, can't you call and ask him what to do? You should not have to deal with all this pain. Please take care and post soon to let us know how you are doing! :pray:just for you!

Peggy,

When my children are sick, they tend to run a fever when the sun goes down. Not sure why, just has always been that way. Are you having any other symptons?

I am just getting over a mild UTI and ran a low grade fever with it. Praise the Lord, I recognized the symptons on the outset and was able to see my GP doctor within an hour. So it is almost gone. Will know for sure tomorrow when I call and get results from labs today. I am also trying to fight off a virus. My children and I were exposed to it and all of us are at some stage with it. I have bumped up the vitamin c and olive leaf to boost my immune system.

Those pains in the knee sound familiar. I too had them. Also the swelling on the outside and top of the knee is where mine swells regularly. When I really over do, it swells all the way from the thigh to the calf.

Call your OS and ask him. Mine will call me back if he's busy and answer my questions. Yours may want to see you sooner than next week. I did go to my GP to have the labs done for the UTI, so you may want to check in with yours incase it is something totally unrelated to your knee.

Well, you've had a major operation - by which I mean a very major operation. You're only 4 weeks on and right in the acute stage of recovery. So odd pains, fever attacks and stuff like that are going to happen. The fevers are mostly from the activity of healing and are quite common. The pains in your muscles the same. When you get started on your PT no doubt you'll find these will start to settle down. In the meantime, just make sure you take your pain killers regularly and keep it all under control. Pain doesn't help progress at all.

I was just going to say the very same thing!!! Feel better and take it EASY!!!! (:)0)

Thanks Jo,You are a God send, There are times I just forget my body is still healing and think I can just do what I did before so when theses pain and fever stop me in my track I cant think why,So thats why this suite is Great!
Cindy....Boy do I know hot flashes I am going on 2 years with them. They can come on at any time of the day and night I hope you dont get them. When I was in the rehb.center and getting my temp. done one morning dont you know I started having a hot flash and my temp did go up the nurse had to redo my temp to just to make sure I hasnt having a fever.
Rose, Now you know you cant get sick right now Sept. is right around the corner,I will kept you in my prayers that this virus passes you,so sorry that the kids are sick it got to be hard on them in the summer,no one wants to be sick when you can go out and play and swim.
My PT just left when he got here I was only 98 degree and when all was done I went to 102 I am very happy on that as he wasnt here last week and didnt send anyone else . But boy am I sore! I have the ice on.

Peggy,
Way to go!!! Keep up the great work. It feels so good when they measure you at the beginning of your session and at the end so you can see the progress! How's the pain right now? Hope it's better!

I have a question
Yesturday it started to get damp here and last night it started to rain and today its raining out going to be like this all weekend. My pain level started going up yesturday afternoon and it hurts more just to move and to walk.
Does anyone else gets like this when the weather changes? Its like the pain before my knee was done.
I am going to see my OS next Wed. first time seeing him since the hospital, now I am starting my list of questions, but as everyone knows there is always something we just forget to ask,so any help I would love it.

Sorry to hear about your pain discomfort, Peggy! Do you have other arthritic issues or is this still related to your knee pain? I still think its the dampness!!! (:)0)

I do have fibromyalgia and that is pain in all the joints, muscles. it is in the arthritic family had this since 02.

That's what your problem is...I think, my Dad has that and he gets really sore when it's damp.:sigh:

I agree i think yo would be able to tell alot with having that...plus the knee repl then revision .......I would def say weather controls your pain with the fibromiaga......).sorry. get better soon..........
