I had my third shot of Euflexxa last week (a week ago today exactly). I have had no problems and my knee is feeling really good.

But today my knee was kind of itchy on the way to work this morning, and a little bit off and on during the day. When I got home and into my PJ's, it was itchy again. I looked at it, and realized that it was at the exact point of injection. There is a small bump like a mosquito bite that is extremely itchy, and then a few red blotches around it that are mildy itchy. Any idea what is going on?
Also, I thought they were going to use Euflexxa, but I think they used something else. I just read that Euflexxa is the only drug of it's kind that doesn't have rooster comb in it. And before my first injection, they made a special point of asking if I was allergic to anything to do with chickens.
What's up??

Why don't you give the doctor's office a call and see for sure if they used a different medication. They need to know about the reaction.

Sound like a mild allergic reaction. By all means report it to your doctor but I think it will go away in time. In the meantime, best relief can be achieved by use of cold packs or an ice cube in a pastic bag. Just smooth it over the area for a few seconds now and again.

Thanks........I have left a message at the doctor's office. His nurse is supposed to call me back in a little while.........
I just thought it was odd that the first two shots were fine, and then it took a whole week for the 3rd shot to act up!
