Well Monday morning I am having my RTKR. Happy & nervous. I have really learned a bunch from reading posts here. Kinda gives me an idea what I am facing. Have not posted in a while, I want to thank everyone for their words of encouragement. WOW!!! By monday night I will be on the other side!!!

Yep - the waiting seems so long and then suddenly ---- zooom! You're on the other side! Bit like when you're trying to overtake a car - seems to take ages to alongside them and then suddenly, they're falling back everso quickly!

Hope all goes well for you.

Good luck!

Stay cool and calm...before you know it you'll be walking pain-free :)

Good luck and remember to push thru the pain during PT. You will do fine!
Talk to you when you are on the road to recovery.
Best,
Crystal

Shutterbug... good luck tomorrow. I'll be 5 weeks post-op from my RTKR tomorrow and I'm doing really well. Just make sure you keep ahead of the pain, both during your hospital stay and at home. Everyone keeps talking about stool softeners... they're right!

Shutterbug,

Good luck tomorrow and know we all will be thinking of you, you will not be alone!

God Bless,
Rick

Well I'm leaving for the hosp. in 1/2 hour. :0) Nerves are starting to catch up with me. Spent the day with my presious grand daughter (2 years) what a treat!! She kept me busy. I will post and let you all now how I fare. Thank you all for you thoughts and comments. See you on the otherside..... :0)

Well I'm on the other side. My wife brought my lap top in so I could do some work. I should be getting release tomorrow with a short stay maybe on the pt ward. using cpm at 55-60 and they want 90 before I go home.
first coupleof days were rough but today is a little easier.

Trying to take of myself. Lots of swelling. Doc said he had to cut bunches of
bonespurs. So I am elevating, and lots of ice. My leg feels like a bag of sand .

Most likely a reaction to the tourniquet that was placed on your thigh during the op. Bit soon for a reaction from pt!
