Hi everyone, had my LTKR on Tues 8/25 . Surgery went very well and the hospital stay was pleasant. Came homel on Fri. 8/28. I now have nurse coming to the house twice a wk. and PT three times a week. Now my days are full, on the CPM, doing exercises, iceing and elavating and of course trying to get as much rest as possible. I take Tramadol l00 mg. and Tylenol every 4 hrs. Cannot take anything else no narcotics (breathing problems)_ no codeine (stomach problems) My wonderful husband is taking real good care of me. Lucky me!
Couldn't get online on my laptop, the wireless does not work, so had to use the desk PC, very uncorfortable! .........Later

Lou,

Glad you're home and getting adjusted. Looks like we had both our knees done within 5 months. Hope your second one is doing well. So far as long as I keep my pain managed I'm doing well. Get that laptop up and running, it's so much easier.

Blessings

Welcome home Lou! Hope you are doing well. Please take care of yourself so you can have a speedy recovery!

Lou....good going!!! So glad to hear you are home and on the road to recovery. Now be a good patient and do as all your caregivers tell you to do. Rest, ice, elevate and exercise in moderation.....this is a tough time, but you sound determined and like you're doing just fine!

Hi Lou!
Welcome home and what great news to have surgery behind you. I had my second TKR done on 8/11, so I'm not that far ahead of you and I remember the first two weeks oh so well...but the good news is, that the first two weeks are the roughest, and once you get past that...you're on your way to brighter, better days!

Rest well.

Lou
So glad you are at home and going well. Thank goodness for great husbands. (I have one too)

Stay comfortable (if possible) remember ice elevate and rest and pain meds.

Hi everyone, thanks for your kind words. Today I had my 2 wk post-op dr. visit. Had xrays taken and the OS said all is well, even though I do have a lot swelling and pain, more so this time than last time. He told me to take it easy on the PT and to stop using the CPM which was aggravating my knee. Just be sure and do a little exercise each day but not much and of course keep iceing. I will have home PT for one more week and then start out patient PT, I' m looking forward to that, because my PT is very gentle. I feel so much better after talking to my OS.

Hi Lou!

So glad that you're on the mend. Swelling has been my biggest hurddle and I'm hopeful that cooler weather will bring some relief. Be good to yourself-and to your hubby, too.

Blessings,
Irene

Hey, Lou....so glad you're making progress in recovery. The first few weeks are the worst usually, so things should keep getting better. Let us know how you get along!

Hey Oldie glad you are feeling a lil better.....Hope the swelling goes down soon but mine stayed awhile as well.....hang in there...............keep us posted.............)

I take Tramadol l00 mg. and Tylenol every 4 hrs. Cannot take anything else no narcotics (breathing problems)_ no codeine (stomach problems)
Oh who cares about all the other meds! Tram and paracetamol are the very best in my book! Couldn't have wanted better.

Glad to hear you're home and doing so well. Keep up the good work!

Jo, I totally agree with you about Tram & Tylenol. They work very well for me too! Today I am feeling much better, the swelling is down. Had PT today, my extension was 0, and my flexion was 99. I thought that was good, because I have not been pushing it at all

Glad you are home and doing so well.

You bet that rom is great:thmb::thmb::thmb::thmb:

I never hurt either from my PT and feel those that pushed
and had so much pain were doing it the wrong way. Well unless you like pain:hehe:

Keep on going.
