Well, I've made it over one small hurdle, and I'm ready to go gangbusters at rehab! my therapist says that I am doing VERY well, I'm VERY tired, I'm sore as anything I have ever felt (times about 50!), but I will NOT give up, I've worked too hard to get here. This morning was kind of weepy for me, but I'm trying to stay focused!! I am not used to being so helpless, but everyone has been AMAZING to me! We have dinners coming to us well into July, which really helps my husband, who has been a real champ! Thanks to all of you for everything, and I'm sure to be back!! I guess I'll start going to the other side, huh? Gotta go, time for pain meds!!!

I'm so glad you're home and everything is going well! Yippeeeee! And yes, you'll be very very very tired for a while, but it does get better with time. Right now all of your energy will go towards PT and healing and that's as it should be.

Weezy

Good for you Hess! It is difficult to be so helpless isn't it. For the first 3 weeks or so I just wanted a day off! It does get better though. Hang in there and keep your chin up!

Welcome back Hess! I am glad my June 9th knee buddy is doing well and that you have so much help. You know, I swear I responded to your message above and must have just zapped it out... These drugs...... Keep resting, exercising and icing and to control swelling, remember to keep that knee above the heart level as much as you can. Karen

It's great to hear from you and know that you are home. With that attitude, you'll recover in no time! Keep up the hard work, and remember: it's okay to get a little weepy from time to time. That's what the folks on this forum are for. There are sure a lot of shoulders to cry on and celebrate with. I'm right behind you. One day more day to go.

Coolios, hess - way to go!

Good Luck Hess! You Will Find Between Pt, Exercising At Home And Napping Your First Month Will Fly By. Mine Sure Did. Still Doing The Exercising And Napping And From The Feel Of It Today That May Take A While To Stop. This Is A Great Site And Josephine Rounds It Out Perfectly So You Couldn't Be In Better Company. I Know They Have Gotten Me Through Plenty Of Tough Times Both Related To My Btkr And Personal Things As Well. Rowdy

1jt@atime, i am happy to hear from you. How are things? I have very good moments, and then I am rotten again. From what I understand, the rotten times will thin out. Can't wait! It's good to be hurting for GOOD, not bad!

Thanks,
Hess

I too am very happy for you. While you were having your surgery I was getting my 2nd opinion & he seems to agree w/ my dr abt the age, 34,---which I expected. He did add that it also seems that my knee cap is sliding to the side. Yee Haa, lets add some more issues. So, the dr is gonna do a scope on 7/10 to take a better look, clean me out(again), & address the knee cap issue, I guess. We'll see where things go from there, since I have to wait until the beginning of next year to have the TKR, if they are gonna do it. Again, I'm so very happy that you are doing well & know that you will be feeling so much better real soon, Jen
