Hi Everyone,

If you're considering having major medical treatment in India, I'd be happy to do my best to answer any questions you may have. I'm an English man who's been living here for many years, and have just had THR here. I've also had medical care in the U.K. both NHS and private, so have a somewhat balanced view. So, ask away if you need any info. Or please contribute if you have advice to give.

all the best

Nick

Good opener, Nick!

How can a country with such stark and massive poverty also have such advanced medical abilities?

Not to mention enter the space race! OTH, thinking of the US ....

Former British colony with associated education establishment (In fact, many are trained in Britain). Massive poverty is accompanied by some with opulent wealth.

A real caste system,,Nick! You sound stronger every day! Keep up the great recup!

Dave's right. But it's not only the opulent. If just 10% of Indians classify as 'middle class' in spending ability, that's over 100 million who can afford good private health care. To cater for them, the top Indian hospitals have become as good as the best anywhere in the world - indeed, in areas such as stem cell research, they are arguably leading the world. There are down-sides in coming to India for an op., but there is great health care here. The trick - and I just hope I got it right - is to chose the right surgeon!!

The right surgeon is key ANYWHERE you go!!
