Not a lot of help for you but...
I'm 10 days post op...used a walker for the first 5 days...on a cane since. I have tried taking a step or two without the cane but the strength isn't there yet. I have been doing the prescribed exercises and I notice my strength increasing daily.

I never did use a walker, but I used :

Two crutches for 5 days.

One crutch up to 14 days out.

A cane for about 4 weeks, but a little less each day.

By 8 weeks, I was back at work (easy desk job) but riding the recumbent bicycle at the gym and walking "around" fine. No big hikes, but no problem at the grocery store either.

Jo I had the posterior approach. But i used the walker for 2 days in the hospital only and then used crutches. much easier for me. By 4 weeks I was using a cane. My doc preferred i use a cane to prevent limping. I was swimming a mile almost every day by 5 or 6 weeks. At 3 months hiking and swimming every day.
I know your question is not really directed toward us poseriors, but just love my new hip and had to add my 2 cents.

I had an anterior TRHR on 10/21. Used walker in hospital, then crutches from realease on 10/24 to 10/26 when PT said I only needed one crutch. A week after the operation, I was using a cane and now (10 days post op) I use nothing for most walking but carry a cane on longer walks "just in case".
Naturally, I'm on pain medications as prescribed.
