It's been over a year since I had my TNR. Presently, my ROM is only a little over 110 degrees. When should I call it quits , I'm referring to PT. Some people have 135 ROM and it's only early in their PT. I'm calling my doctor tomorrow and get another script to continue my PT. Is it too long after my procedure to even hope to gain more range of motion? I do know that everybody's outcome will be different. Any feedback will be appreciated.:wub:

Tommy, rather than just call your doctor and request more PT, why don't you arrange an appointment for a consultation? There are so many variables that can impact a person's ROM after knee surgery - scar tissue, previous surgeries and the shape of your knee when you went into surgery, muscles and ligaments.

You also need to try not to focus on the number. It's just that - a number. What is really meaningful, is how you are functioning with your new knee. Can you do the things you want to in life? Or does the ROM hold you back? These are the things you should discuss with your surgeon as you get a realistic assessment of what you can expect with your recovery.

That's right, Jamie. Timmy, you need to ponder on that - are you able to do all you want to? Most people are okay with 110. I have 120 and it's not that much more. But your surgeon is the one to discuss it with.
