First off, I feel really dumb. I took some clothes to the tailor today... lost weight and needed them taken in. Not the dumb part obviously. My tailor has a platform, maybe 1/2 again higher than an ordinary step... where she does her altering. Now comes the dumb part! I held onto the wall with the palm of my hand and stepped up on the platform, using my surgery leg... OUCH! For a second I felt a kind of grinding sound in my knee. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt much. The tailor actually pinned 3 jackets and 3 pairs of slacks. Then, I drove home... just aching a little. When I arrived home and got out of the car, oh boy. My husband is sure I twisted my knee while I was stepping up. I'm in enough pain in my knee and quad area, that I took a vicodin. I've heard so many times that you can't hurt the prosthetic, so I'm not nervous about that. But, I'd really like some opinions of what I might have done and how long I might hurt. I'm now 3 months, 3 weeks post-op. Thanks.
