TKR I think I have pes anserine bursitis. Is it OK to do modified zumba?

Is it OK to use the Stairmaster or not such a good idea for knees?

Hello,
It should be okay. Start slowly, like with anything, and see how it works for you. If in doubt, you can always check with your OS's office.
Happy Thursday!

Regarding Zumba and knee replacement: I tried a class and left after 2 minutes. There is just too much twisting and fast movements for this to be a safe option for people with a TKR. Why risk it,we need these things to last for the basic ADLs as long as possible. I would definitely choose a safer form of dance or other exercise.

@LeftKnee123 I agree that Zumba as normally shown isn't the best exercise option.

This member was a good 18 months post op when they posted about modified Zumba, and has not been on these forums in a year.

In my own preop experience, with severe osteoarthritis that hurt with too much standing or walking, if one enjoys a loud and social work out, it's totally possible to take a Zumba class if one simply steps in place and pivots carefully, resting as needed.
