Yep, survived my first out patient PT today - you know you are in for it when people ask who your PT is and when you tell them their response is, "I'll pray for you"!!.
Plenty of stretching and bending and pulling (her), some kind of machine that contracts my muscles while I do leg lifts, some standing/stretching exercises, some incision massage, and 1/2 mile on the bike (Yep, got all the way around, YAY me!)

pt pain and torture........lol
mske sure you take you meds anout 45 min to an hr before you go and ice when your done.congrats it hard work but worth it....good luck im happy for you..........AMAZING ALL THE WAY AROUND WOW YOU GO....THATS TERRIFIC...........IM STILL WORKING ON IT............

Awesome! You had a good day. Do not be surprised if you are a bit swollen and hurty in the am. Ice now and be proactive.

I did take my meds before I went, she asked me if I did, too! Had a busy day - went to school to watch the 4th graders do a musical about Lewis and Clark (a few of the main parts had been in my 2nd grade class, so I had to go see them!), then off to Pain and Torture, home for ice and a well deserved nap, then out to the hospital for blood letting #7 - woo-hoo, only 1 more to go! My sweetie brought supper home, so I'm back in the chair, icing again. ML (my PT) warned me I'd be sore tomorrow, and to take the day off, no exercising, I go back on Wed. Twice a week for 3 weeks are the orders she has, but can be added to if she thinks I need something else. I'm hoping for some hydrotherapy at the end (love the water!!)

Oh BeachhBum, I'm so happy for you, you are doing fabulously! Keep up the great work. Wow, you went all the way on the bike on your first day? Today was my first day on the bike and I am maybe 3/4 of the way around.
What do you mean by the 7th bloodletting?

Bloodletting: have to have blood drawn twice a week because of the blood thinners OS has me on. I HATE needles (think that goes back to having the rabies series when I was a kid - got bit by a raccoon). So, I have had 7 blood tests, only 1 more to go on Thursday. Will be celebrating then!!!! :thmb:

Way to go, Beach!!! You are wise to rest in between PT sessions, though. That's the best thing you can do....it gives your muscles a chance to recover and be ready to work again the next time.

Well done I have my first PT on Thursday dreading it.

Love Karen x

WOW, that is brilliant, I'm 7 weeks now and would be ecstatic if could go round, not that that stops me trying lol.
Your progress is fantastic, keep it up, you'll be running a marathon soon. XX

Awesome job. Bit by a racoon?
judy

Yep, I had feed box (for a couple of ponies) that had a hinged top. Raccoon got down in the feed and when I raised the lid to scoop out food it jumped up on me and bit me on the shoulder on the way out. Scared me to death, almost as much as being held down by 4 or 5 people every day for those shots :shk:
