Hi folks, I just thought I would let you all know that I am now able to ride a real bike.....I jumped on my daughters bike today and I was fine....required a bit of technique and unfortunately the bike needs a service so I didn't ride for long....but I CAN DO IT! Get the seat to the right height, handle bars right etc and then I was off and cycling. It was a bit shakey and I wouldn't want to have had to stop in a hurry, but all those skills will come back as I become more flexible....Its been at least 15 years since I have ridden a pushbike!!!

Harbour bridge, here I come....but first of all I'll have to buy myself a new bike, as I actually would liike to be able to ride WITH my daughter ....and whilst I'm on her bike she's wheelless!

Incidentally I tried the other 2 bikes in my house, but I didn't have enough flexibility for them....

Rachel:D.

Hey Rachel great news Im still a lil chicken I want to do it but afraid I will fall. Ill get there though......Congratulations to ya !!!!!!!!!!!!Go get em'....:)

Thats great Rachel! Well done - isn't it good that these things are all now becoming within our reach again. I tried to sit on mine the other day but think the seat will need to be raised a bit. Now hurry on out there and get yourself a new bike...

Don't you dare get on one yet Kim - just read your post in your thread about your knee - you will be in bother if you try and ride a bike:shk:

What a great feeling I can tell you had in this post! It is so nice to hear someone getting their life back and being extremely happy about it. I'm not ready for my bike yet (which is my favorite thing to do. I look forward to hearing more happy stories from you.

Way to go, Rachel!!! I can just picuture you whizzing down the street with a BIG smile on your face. You're a kid again!!!

Hi Rachel,
You did today what I am wanting to do, hopfully soon, just havnt got the nerve up to do it yet. Way to go and hope you and your daughter are biking together soon.

Gods blessings

Your day will come Trish .....and it was great to get on the bike, now I just have to keep doing it...a bit of a problem given that I have to get it serviced and I'm having a cash flow issue! not to mention wanting to buy a bike.....maybe thats for Christmas!
Rachel

You've been a good girl this year, Rachel....I'm thinking Santa Claus will put a bike under your tree this Christmas.... :whis:

Rachel
Hey girl,,way to go. Just be careful, and you will become more confident all the time. One little achievement brings many many more.

:thmb:

Kangaroo ,,your hopping right along!!

Now Jamie, how DO you know that?????
Rachel

Because we moderators have "super" powers.....Jo gave it to me when she made me a "super moderator"!

Rachel,
Jamie might have super powers, but I know what Santa really likes. And it's not good girls,if you really want a bike,be naughty,:rotfl:

Seriously Rachel,I do hope you get a bike.
If you were closer I would give you my wife's bike, she does not ride it anyway. Its like brand new.
I think she thinks its a nice place to hang your jacket in the garage.

I think that Santa in this house has had a hip replacement!!!! So that being the case getting a bike will not be an issue!....Getting out to ride it without a 3 year old in tow may be, and given that I'm a little unsteady I wouldn't like to put him in a baby seat....

As for being naughty....or nice....hmmm....thats really 2 edges of the same sword....
Rachel

I've seen those around, they look pretty cool. I think even if I could ride with one of those I'd prefer to wait until I'm really steady, so riding on my own would be the way to go.....I always worry about the other types of bike seats...At high speed and at the height of the adult bike you only need a minor prang and you'd have a "shaken" baby, not to mention broken limbs etc....

Lets just get a bike first!!!!!
Rachel
