HI all!

I have had total replacement on both my hips and I'm close to being back to normal. I asked my doctor if he thought it would be ok to bungee jump, eventually, and he rolled his eyes. We went back and forth and he finally said, go to an internet message board and if you can find 20 people who have bungee jumped after surgery without any problems, I'll consider allowing it.

SO...would you please help me out in this endeavor? I would appreciate it very much. If you want to go into detail, fine; if you just want to say, I bungee jumped after total replacement with no problems, that's fine too.

TIA!

Oh wow! That gave me a good laugh! I hope you find them!

But, considering the straps are mostly around the ankles, I shudder to imagine what that would do to your new hip!!

I just hope that you are not actually serious!

Josephine, I'm very serious.

My doctor conceded that if I can be attached with something around my upper body, sort of like a parachute fastening, instead of at the ankles, he'd consider it.

But I STILL need 20 people to convince my doctor.

PS--I also ran the idea of sky-diving past him and almost before I got the words out of my mouth he told me "NO!" in no uncertain terms. Dang it!

Actually, if you look at the photograph I posted, you'll see that he has on a full body harness and the straps around the ankles seem almost secondary, probably to keep the body correctly oriented to the harness, i.e. head down.

I admire your intrepid spirit and hope you prove your doctor (and me) wrong!
