Hi everyone,

Still pretty groggy so bear with me. Surgery went well - scratching pretty good from the Dilaudid even though i'm taking Vistroil to prevent it. The new pain is different and I know it will go away eventually. It was so worth it for all of you still questioning whether to do it. Have had lots of different things happen, incluidng the first PT nurse tell me yesterday she could not get a pulse on me and called 911 and not only one, but two ambulances appeared. After I singned a paper stating I would not go to the ER, everyone finally left after the four of them finally found I had a pulse and no shortness of breathe. I figure things have to go uphill from here. Each day seems better so far. I did my 13 stairs today for the first time only 6 days after surgery and PT thinks I will be using onky a cane in a week! Have to go - time for more of that wonderful pain medicine that makes me very happy! I will try to write more tomorrow between doses

Hugs to all of you

Welcome to the other side, Cass!!! Hope you enjoy LaLaLand for awhile!!! The worst os over! Let the recup begin!!! (:)0). Oh! And happy dreams!!!! (:)0)

Cass! Great to see you back. You keep up with those pain meds, y'hear?

Hey Cass Im glad your doing ok......wow scary story........Yep take your meds and relax .......i think you are doing well...........hang in there............) keep us updated............)

Sounds like you are doing really great, Cass. Well, except for that thrilling moment where you hear your nurse pronounce you pulseless!!! Oh my word! I'm hoping you have a different nurse from now on. That one sounds a bit shaky....

I'm with Jo on the pain meds. They help you to rest which promotes good healing. And they keep your swellihg and inflammation down. All this is so important. You will be able to move around better when you don't hurt and that helps you gain ROM (range of motion) with your knee faster. Stay on schedule with them for a while!

Post again when you can!

Cass,
So glad you made a liar out of you nurse!!! And have a pulse and are even breathing. Can hardly wait to hear more of you strange story.

Cass
Welcome to the other side for sure. Wow I think I would request a different nurse.
No pulse :sct::rotfl: could she not see you were breathing and blinking and maybe even talking to her. Glad to have you on this side and I know you will do great!

Hi Cass, Thats great news I hope you are feeling good today. Take It easy and
stay comfortable. Best Wishes To You,

A PULSE?? Congrat's on that!! Thats a good thing!! LOL!!!!!

Cass, welcome to this side. That story is terrible. Were you talking at the time????? That is usually a sign to me that my patient has a pulse! Yes, I am a nurse and I also play one on TV.

Cass...welcome to the other side! I'm not a nurse and even I know if a person is awake and breathing they have a pulse! Wow! Do you now have another nurse...? Here's to a speedy recovery!!!!

Your nurse doesn't sound like the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I hope things get better and better for you. Everyone here has completely out-done me in PT with all the stairs and everything, walking with a cane in such a short time. I feel like a real wimp!!!
