I think you have set a record for quickest to respond! Glad to hear everything is going well. Karen

Wow! I'm impressed. I had my MacBook and wireless internet in my hospital room but no way could I function well enough that first day to check my email, much less send any messages! Hopefully this is a sign for a speedy recovery for you! Keep taking those meds to get you through the first few days. Let us know how you are doing. I'm at 5 weeks post op today from BTKR. I get more encouraged every day. There is light at the end of the tunnel and it is NOT a train!

Marrianne, that's incredible!! So pleased you are through the op, now the hard part eh?...LOL.. Sleep well, take the pain killers and especially the stool softeners!!!!! (((((HUGS))))) Sue

Marianne... I was also thinking about you this morning and all I can say is you're amazing! Thrilled to hear everything went well. You're going to be a hard act to follow. Sandy

WOW!!! Didn't expect to hear from you today!! You are on your way. Good advice from Sue -- don't forget the stool softeners, they are our friends!!!!

hi again. Can u tell I am a bit lonely. Ate some of the food they brought. Just the crackers and a roll. Also the tossed salad. Avoided the heavy stuff didn't want to chance any nausea. Have done well so far. Doing lots of deep breathing and ankle pumps. Your comments are makingme feel even more motivated. I know tomorrow will be tougher whenthe block wears off but I will look back at today and keep pretending to be the little engine that could. Still sitting in the chair but thinking itmay be time to head back to the bed. I have been awake since 2:30 so I am pooped. I think I will be tired since I haver slept a bunch today. The hubby was sleeping when I called him. Now its myturn. Thanks again.thank you thank you thank you

Alaska- "You ROCK", Just sent you a get well soon kind of post in another thread (figured you would be out of it for another day). That is awsome. Great tip about the stool softener. What motivated me was I heard you won't get released till you are able to BM (bowel movement). Again, welcome back.

Well, don't that beat all! Daily updates from the hospital bed! Mind there was one other chap did that, Stan, who had his hip done in Russia!

All power to you, Marianne. But take it easy.

WAY TO GO MARIANNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so glad to hear you are doing well! I have been thinking about you!
All day yesterday I kept looking at the clock wondering what might be going on! YOU GO GIRL! It sounds like you are doing great. I am so happy for you!
Please get plenty of rest and take care of yourself.

Marianne

You are amazing -- keep it up. I had surgery at 7:00 am and did not make it to the room till 6:00 pm!

Enjoy the sleep while you can and i hope you don't end up with sleep problems as that is still my problem and it is driving me nuts.

If the stool softners don't work, go for the Miralax or its generic Polyethylene Glycol. That stuff does a pretty good job.

wow. Its been an interesting few days. Day was awesome. But when the nerve block wore totally off at 12:30pm ughhhh I was ugly and not comfortable. Figured. Was now in the sucks days the I'd said. By 5ish am things were better. Went to the potty and 2walk so the catheter was removed. Slept a lot on and off yesterday. Last pm had super NYSE an believes in meds so I stopped pain pump and went to lots of oxy and flexiril. Working good. Did 40on com for two hours yesterday and at 44this am. Also just took a real shower. And earlier walked withpt to do a few stairs. I'd said I was doing well and he might release me tomorrow. He was originally gong fishing but now not till friday.
Getting drowsy. Better go. Thanks for all the advice
marianne

Marianne, HELLO! Not sure how but I missed your return the other day. Glad your back. Get resting and moving! and enjoy the end of the knee pain... :-)

Marianne,
Glad you are back with us. I figured you must have hit some rough times yesteday.
It should all get better now.
JUdy

Hi Marianne... I've been told that the 2nd day after surgery is the worst... hope it gets better from here on out. Wow, taking a shower is a major accomplishment. Sounds to me like you're ahead of the game. I hope I'll be able to do as well after my TKR! Sandy

day 2 not so bad when the drugs are good. Glad she's "Feeling good". Man is Marianne gonna laugh at her self when she reads that first post!

I just can't believe she was actually posting those first couple of days..... the last thing on my mind was a computer. All I wanted was to sleep and think evil thoughts about the in-hospital physical therapist. I actually checked myself out a day early to get away from her! My OS left it up to me and I decided I could take oral pain meds, eat better food, and do those exercises on my own at home without the wicked witch PT. Can ya tell I didn't like her?

Keep smiling Marianne, sounds like you are doing well. If you are released, have a comfortable and safe trip home. ((((HUGS)))) Sue
