I was fortunate - they were able to do a partial replacement. I was in the hospital only overnight and then stayed with someone until this afternoon. I can't believe that four days ago they had my leg wide open and I'm walking, sometimes without a cane! The CPM says I'm at 90 degrees and my instructions were to not set it past that until after my staples are out. The staples freaked me out the first time I saw them. I look like a piece of drywall held together with a staple gun! I was terrified and I will admit the first night was not pleasant, but it gets a little better every day. I am diligently doing my exercises and looking forward to a life without pain! Have faith, all - even us chickens survive!

Way to go, Roo!!! Isn't it wonderful to be on THIS side of the surgery? Sounds like you are well on your way to your new life. I'm so happy for you.

I am so happy for you! I know the staples look pretty scary now--- but your little off-center scar will heal up nicely. Mine is starting to turn silver now and parts of it hardly show up anymore.

It's nice to have another PKR in our group! Keep taking very good care of yourself and you going to do great!

Hi Roo and welcome to the other side. Heal quick!

Good for you Roo!!!! Sounds like you are well on your way. The easy part is over (ha!!) now the fun begins!!! ROM,ROM,ROM. Good luck and keep coming back with your questions, there is always someone online!!

Yeah for you
Hess

Hi Roo, pleased to hear you got away with a partial!! Sounds as if your ROM is good already. Don't worry about those staples, they come out easily, and it won;t be long now eh?

Take care and keep exerising!

Worry not, Roo - those staples aren't holding ALL your knee together - only the skin! From about 3mm down there are several layers strong sutures holding all the big stuff together, all the way down to the joint.

But congrats and well done!
