For the last two years since my knee started getting stiff, I have had to flip myself over so that I am on my hands and knees to get up. I stand up and then walk my hands in.

today, I was sitting on the floor and I just got up frontwards--no flip. Wow, what a great feeling. I got my feet under me and just stood up.

I am working hard in pt, my It band is tight because my quads and glutes have been weak over the years. I am dripping with sweat at the end of pt--and today, I even had sore muscles--wow did that feel good. That means that my muscles are waking up and will soon do the jobs that they are supposed to be doing!!!!

Kelly,

Congratulations!!! I know that felt good to stand up again without having to do gymnastics. You are amazing! Hard work pays off. Before you know it, you won't even remember all the down time and you will be enjoying your life with your new improved knee.

Yep you are right they are all starting to work.....I knew you would get there and Im sure you will have more to post as you go...........Keep it up..........I would probably get up forward and keep going forward if you know what I mean.......Congrats, be careful.....:)

Wow...that IS an accomplishment. I would feel so proud if I was able to just stand up from sitting on the floor. I'm still in the gymnastics phase for that movement. Maybe someday....

Good going, Kelly!!!

I'm pleased for you but I'm jealous! I so wanted to kneel at church last Sunday. I love to kneel and even lay face down when worshipping but haven't been able to do it for two years.

That is fantastic!!!! I am so proud of you!!! Keep up the great job!:thmb: I can't wait to get to that point. It will be awhile.

Jo, you will get there, don't worry---but you might have to do some of that dreaded "exercise" to get down and up from a prone position!!! to be honest, I never even thought about it too much--I went up for communion and knelt down---nothing happened, so I continued.

Later, our priest's wife asked me if I was supposed to kneel---and I told her that no one told me not to do it!!

Once you get the meniscus problem under control, it will be easier to kneel, I suspect. Kelly

Kelly

I so remember getting up the same way except I wasn't on the knees more prone like a push up. You can get very creative when the knees don't bend.

Yes, is nice just to get up from any chair or sofa. I was always having to check out seating when I went out because if it did not have arms and a firm seat I could not get up. I bought my first couch after the BTKR as before I could never get up from one.

Keep going.

SO happy for you,Kelly! Muscles REALLY DO have memory!!! (:)0)

Kelly, I can only dream of doing that one day,way to go girl!!

Hey Kelly, Just checking in. Seeing what your up to next...lol....Your doing a great job, it is an inspiration. I know you dont want to be that be well take it anyway ...lol.....Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!
