Hello all, I went for the cortisone shot today. I am feeling pain from the shot itself and also my hip pain. I am hoping they will both go away in a few days. I hear it will hurt me more tomorrow than it does right now, not looking foward to it. But at least I am off work for another day or so. :D:D

maybe by tomorrow if it does work give it a lil time to move around a lil....i hope it works please let us know..............)

Take an Advil or Tylenol before you go to bed tonite! I'm sure you'll be fine!! ((:0)

Not feelin to good right now, pain is back and advil did not kick in yet, guess I took it to late. Maybe I will sleep at some point tonight....

New Yorker...

I was told it goes this way some of the time...and found this to be true for me after a few shots...

The anisthetic (either lidcaine or novocaine) used for the shot will make things feel better for a short while...maybe until you get home or a little longer. Then there is pain for another day or two. After that the cortisone kicks in and starts helping long term.

Hope it works for you!

Hello all, Second day after cortisone shot and now I feel the soreness from the shot. I can still feel a little of my hip pain I felt before the shot but I was told that should go away anywhere from day two or three up till a week or so to go away if the shot worked. Taking motrin for now advil did'nt work so good yesterday. Hope this woks:thmb:

Hey New Yorker,
I got a cortisone shot in my knee monday . yesterday it did hurt more and I felt it last nite too. Thanks for all the info on when it should be better. My doc told me to rest my knee for 7 days , then 7 more if it was still hurting.

I hope your hip injection works.
Was it painful at the time? My first one was not too bad. The second one hurt like crazy, then i couldn't even walk for an hour. I just went out and sat in the waiting room of the hospital. That one never did anything for me

I hope this works for you. Keep us updated

Hello all, I got my shot on tuesday and so far so good. The pain from the shot is basicly gone, very little sore very little. I got the shot in both hips at the same time, my left feels 90% better maybe even 95%. But my right is a little weird, I am feeling some kind of a pinch or something like that a few times troughout the day today and a little yesterday. I dont remember feeling this pinch before. If I did it was not as sharp, just a little uncomfortable but otherwise I feel good for the first time in awhile. Right side I would say 50 - 60 % better. :thmb:

One week after my shot. I still feel really good, pain is almost all gone. I feel 99% better in my left side. On my right side I still feel a little bit of a pinch or something, at least the major pain is gone. A little uncomfortable feeling but not painful anymore. I do however feel a little bit of a burning sensation when I feel the pinch. I have a doctors appt fri, so I will see what he says or thinks it might be. Not feeling it to often thou, daily but only about 3 maybe 4 times a day depending on what I am doing. Still better than what I was feeling...:D

I'm so glad you went for the shot and it is working. My knee is better too. I am waiting to get an apt to have cortisone shots in my neck. I love the stuff in the injectable form.
