Hi, My name is Fred

I have trouble with my right hip, and i'm sure it needs to be replaced. Quite frankly I'm scared. I had a liver transplant 19 years ago. As a result of the medicene I've developed a lot of problems including dead bone cells. When I get up from a chair it takes me a while to get comfortable on my legs, and can only walk for short distances. This was tolerable and I accepted it, but now this hip really makes it difficult. Everyone says I should have it done, and I've even seen a surgeon who didn't say it couldn't be successful, but still concerned. Found this website and thought i'd get some encouragement from reading all the great results people have had. I just registered and thought I'd introduce myself and explain why I'm here.

Hi Fred - welcome to BoneSmart. Sit yourself down and make yourself at home!

Now tell me what it is that concerns you particularly? Is it the transplant you had? Are you fearful it will conflict with the new hip in someway? Or make problems for the anaesthetic? Do tell and I will do my best to address your questions.
