I was released from the rehabilitation hospital yesterday and am now home. It feels great to be here. I had a follow-up visit with my OS yesterday as well and he is pleased with my progress.

I am having in-home nursing and physical therapy for the next couple of weeks. The nursing is to monitor my blood pressure and other vital signs after the complications I had after surgery.

I know I have a lot of work ahead of me but I am doing well and up to the challenge. My ROM is about 85 degrees in both knees and I am wallking quite well with a rollator. My plan is still to return to work on August 24th and I am hoping to be using a cane at that point so there is much work to be done to get me to that.

My first night home was pretty good and I am managing to get around my house fairly well. It is helpful that most of my house was set up well prior to the surgery due to other orthopedic issues I have had in the past. I have handicap ramps to get into my house and a chairlift to get upstairs.

I have to thank all of you for your support while I was going through everthing. I have come a long way from four weeks ago today when I had the surgery and stopped breathing needing to be resusitated. Here I am four weeks later feeling stronger every day and getting around my house on my own. I think my progress has been remarkable. My doctors and therapists have been wonderful and I have never worked harder on anything in my life but it is paying off.

Hey BidRed. Wow I cant believe you stopped breathing. Im glad you are home safe and sound. Take it easy though. We were wondering how you were doing. Post and let us know about your recovery. Geez take it easy that is scary....Sounds like your on the right path now. Im happy for you...Keep it up.

Big Red, so good to hear that you are home once again. You've already accomplished a lot and you obviously have clear goals to keep you going. My money says you'll make it....you are SO determined!!! Bless your heart!!! We're all here for whatever support you need.

Red,
So happy to hear that you are home and doing well after the scare you had.
I pray that everything keeps going at the speed you need to get back to work.
But pleas becarefull about pushing yourself.

Big Red,

There's no place like home! I'm glad you are home and doing so well.

I too had that scare and had to be resesitated, not being able to handle the pain medication after surgery. It was scary for my daughter who was with me, but I really don't remember much except being held by the Glory of the Lord in his Loving security. The most peaceful I have ever felt. But like you He is not finished with me yet!

Hope you continue to improve daily and enjoy your new knees!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery! So glad you came through everything fine. Keep up the good work, but take it easy too! Take care, Paula
