All,
It's been a long journey but I'm snug as a bug in a rug (upstairs I might add!) after my bilats. I was in hospital for 6 days due to a pulmonary embolism and am still being monitored for that, so it took a bit longer since they had to suspend PT for a couple of days while that was being treated. Other than that setback, all went well. The incisions look good (will send pic soon on the picture thread) and home nursing care and PT are set up for two weeks. My blood will be monitored for 6 months along with Coumadin treatment.
When I got home I really wanted to land on the top story of the house, at least for a week or so, since I have family at home to bring me my meals, and that is where my combination office/reading room is w/comfortable recliner. Well, I came in through the garage which was only three steps and rested a couple of minutes. Then I went straight for the stairs. Hubby stood behind me (I kept saying "no goosing"!), and just took them one at a time while holding onto both handrails. I got up this morning and showered and washed my hair, changed dressings, had visit from home nurse, and took a nice, long, deserved, nap. And here I am!
I am taking Dilaudid for pain after a bad experience with Percocets. I am doing lots of sleeping but hope to catch up on some posts before taking another power nap.
Later......ZZZZZZZZ
