All,
It's been a long journey but I'm snug as a bug in a rug (upstairs I might add!) after my bilats. I was in hospital for 6 days due to a pulmonary embolism and am still being monitored for that, so it took a bit longer since they had to suspend PT for a couple of days while that was being treated. Other than that setback, all went well. The incisions look good (will send pic soon on the picture thread) and home nursing care and PT are set up for two weeks. My blood will be monitored for 6 months along with Coumadin treatment.

When I got home I really wanted to land on the top story of the house, at least for a week or so, since I have family at home to bring me my meals, and that is where my combination office/reading room is w/comfortable recliner. Well, I came in through the garage which was only three steps and rested a couple of minutes. Then I went straight for the stairs. Hubby stood behind me (I kept saying "no goosing"!), and just took them one at a time while holding onto both handrails. I got up this morning and showered and washed my hair, changed dressings, had visit from home nurse, and took a nice, long, deserved, nap. And here I am!

I am taking Dilaudid for pain after a bad experience with Percocets. I am doing lots of sleeping but hope to catch up on some posts before taking another power nap.

Later......ZZZZZZZZ

Sharon

Welcome home!

Your day sounds like mine, exercise and power naps. This weekend I actually stayed awake for most of the day.

Seems everyone is coming up with drug reactions. Mine was to oxycontin.

Well I will be thinking of you as we both do home PT for a bit. I will start outpatient PT on June 30th.

Take it easy.

Simon

Congrats on making it up the stairs!

WELCOME HOME!!!!

I am so glad to hear you are doing well.
Sounds like you are one tough cookie! I will keep you in my prayers.
May your recovery continue smoothly!

Yeah Sharon! Welcome home and back with us. Get ready and here you go! Before you know it, you'll be singing and walking. TKR TKR la la TKR!

Wow, it sounds like you are doing wonderfully!! Keep it coming, and God bless!!!

Welcome home Sharon. Enjoy the naps, I still take one occasionally in the afternoon if I have been busy, I am now at 5 and a half months. Sounds as if you are doing well now, keep it up!! Sue

Welcome home. I am glad you are doing well. I just got back home yesteday from mine. I had L TKR. I want to start a new thread but I can's seem to rembember how to do it? Help anyone?

Bumleg, one way is to click on new posts, then go to last column where it list before, after, hip or knee or joint. Click on the pertaining one and at the top left of that page should be a "new thread" clicker. Click away. Now I will go try it to see if I was remembering correctly.
