Re: Picture Gallery chat

Interesting change of topic, Irene. I used mine for about 7-8 weeks after my TKR. I still go into the handicapped stalls so I can use the higher seat.

Re: Picture Gallery chat

As long as you feel comfortable! My hubby hated it because it prevented HIM from using it! I'd also say 7 to 8 weeks,,,,,,that's entirely up to YOU!

Re: Picture Gallery chat

WAIT!!!!!! Is there a reason why this is in the picture gallery thread?????

Hi, Irene, and welcome to BoneSmart. Unfortunately you posted in an old thread but also one intended for just pictures!

I have moved it into the Hip Replacement forum and into a thread of it's own so you will get replies of your own.

Irene, I figured that Josephine would move your question. I used the heightened seat for about 6 wks---2 wks longer than my Dr. required. I remember feeling a little hesitant about sitting lower but think I tried it for first time in a restaurant and realized I was fine. The seat has b een in the attic ever since.

For some reason my husband loved it . At 3 months when all restrictions were lifted, I asked him to remove it. It took him 4 weeks more to remove it.

Now it is back again after back fusion surgery!!!

Irene welcome to bonesmart , it is an awesome place. I had my right hip replaced on June 6th. Pretty normal rehab after and just love my new hip. It makes my other hip look pretty lame about now!!!

Isn't it amazing the stuff you learn in here!

Seven weeks of use for me, then it had to go back to the hospital - we could rent the equipment we needed... I still used the disabled tilets at work etc for a couple of weeeks after that as they are slightly higher than normal...
