Whew, I had Bilateral total knee replacement on June 9, 2008 in Indianapolis. Released from hospital on June 12th and went to a rehab center at the hospital and went home on June 21st. Surgery was the easy part, therapy is the hard part. I can walk up 12 stairs and am walking around the house. Knee rom os 95 and 100, with an almost straight extension. You MUST do the exercises. Only you, not your doctor or therapist are responsible for a good outcome. I believe I am right on target, but I know I stil have a way to go. Keep a positive attitude and take your pain meds!!

Way to go, Ed!!! It sounds like you have the perfect attitude for success and are doing great. I'm so happy for you. Hope you post more as you progress through recovery. Bilateral surgery takes extra effort, but the rewards are definitely worth it!

So happy for you Ed. Keep up the good work. Sounds like you did a great job. You are so right about being our job. Very hard job at that. Yet all worth it. Hope you continue to improve. Your def. going in the right direction....Good luck and keep us posted !!!!!

I'm glad to hear you're doing well, Ed. It's only after the operation that most of us realize how easy surgery is compared to physical therapy. You keep up the good work! Bilateral? My god, man, you're amazing! All of you bilaterals (including my 79 year old mother) are amazing!
