Thanks so much for the responses. That helps so much. I actually did take the time to go back through your entire recovery thread last night to get a better feel for your entire experience. That, and your explanations above give a clear picture of what has happened.
You have a clear picture of how an uncemented prosthesis works and, you're right, it was just the word "glue" that got me off track. The uncemented implant has special porous coating that allow for the bone to grow into it to secure the implant in place. This type of implant has proven to be just as good as the cemented verision (sometimes even a tad better) in clinical trials. But, there are cases where the bone growth just doesn't take place properly which sounds like what you may be experiencing. In those cases, a cemented prosthesis can get the job done.
