OK now this is getting scarey!!!
Saw my hip surgeon today and we decided on going for the right knee arthroscopy. It will be Dec 17th. I won't know what exactly he does in there until I wake up. So I have no idea if I will be in the NO weightbearing mode for 6-8 weeks or not.
He told me the only way to get me off the mountain and resting joints would be to put me in prison. So he said I will still be in prison with my leg imobilized. That will probably calm down my left knee too.

This is scarier to me than the 3 level cervical fusion or hip replacement. I don't like the idea of no weightbearing!!! It could be worse.

Aaww, Judy! My heart goes out to you. Though it seems like your surgeon has a handle on your personality for sure!

He told me the only way to get me off the mountain and resting joints would be to put me in prison.

thanks Jo
He does totally understand me. The first thing he said to me after the replacement was .....your bones are really soft, there is a small fracture in your femur so you really have to wait for me to give you the ok before you hit the trails.

Saw my spine doc on monday. He wants me to wait until Dec , then he will burn the nerves in my thoracic spine, more steroid injections in the lumbar . He told me I am in the top 2% of his patients as far as activity and fitness level.
I am sure trying hard to keep it there!!!

Judy!
I think you and I are really a pair!!! I think we will be spending our Christmas week emailing! your the 17th and Im the 18th! Just opposite scopes! Same OS statements about not knowing exactly what we will wake up to. That is the scary part. I cant stand the not knowing. My knee scopes were always a piece of cake and never needed immobilization - but never had any microfracture! - We always went simple. Now I am in the same boat as you - this OS is trying to save the joint so it is a possibility.

Hang in there! Thinking and waiting with you for all this to be over! Like one more month to go!

I can't stand the not knowing either. It is hard to plan. It all depends on where he does the microfracture as well!!

I almost laughed when the surgery scheduler gave me his next available date of the 17th!!

I am still in pt for my thoracic spine . Last week when I handed him the new prescription he asked me where I wanted to sit for his daughter's wedding (she is 5 and in kindergarten) I guess everyone has not been in pt for one part or another for 18 of the last 24 months.

I am glad you are feeling better
