Five and half weeks 22nd December 2016 anterior approach LTHR
This is 14 days out. After looking through all of the pictures here I am pretty sure I hold the record for the longest and worst hip replacement scar ever. The picture does not show the three inches that continue around the back! 19 inches of pain.
15 days post-op Posterior 15 inch incision - much larger than I expected.
This was taken the day after surgery (Feb. 8th/17). I can't believe how clean the incision is....amazing!)
Two weeks post op TLHR mini posterior. Scar about 5". Dissolvable stitches. Finally removed dressing yesterday and carefully took steri strips off in shower!! Pretty pleased as looks quite neat although a bit hard and bumpy.
4½ weeks post op - anterolateral approach THR.
LTHR, Jan 31. Incision is just under 6 inches. With staples - 2 weeks, and then at 7 weeks.
Old scar is from 1966 and new scar is from March 7th, 2017
4 week out... very small incision
Right THR Anterior approach 4/12/17. Lines and marks are still surgeon's purple marker.
Posted earlier after five days. The latest is after five months. The little line is blending in and hopefully will be nearly invisible soon.
RTHR, 4/26/17 7 days out. Wound vac and original bandage just removed.
Just nearly 8 weeks post ok. A huge scar, probably because I'm obese.
Drain tubes taken out...Right hip, but left looks just as pretty
Left THR 20/4/17 3 or 4 days after staples removed.
When researching the SuperPath technique, I could not find a good picture or diagram that showed the incision location. This is only Day 4 so the 4 inch incision is still covered up but you can see where it is (if interested).
