THR Hip Surgery in January 2023

Hi, thanks you to this great site. I am having knee pain 8 months after my hip surgery. I lifted a cat in a carrier to the vets office and afterward have pain in knee when walking. This started 2 days ago and I am worried that I injured myself. Has anyone had this happen? Thank you all for your input!

What was the date of your surgery and which hip? Was the surgery THR?

New hips do not like lifting or twisting. Was the carrier heavy or awkward? Sound like you may have strained something. Does rest ease the pain?

Unfortunately yes, I've had that happen. THR's take a tremendous toll on our muscles and afterwards they do not like lifting any weight. Just like the recovery from THR rest and ice should help. That's how you'll know it's soft tissue as the rest and ice will show improvement.
