I just found out that I need a hip joint replacement. Unfortunately I do not have medical insurance to cover the costs. I also don't have $40,000 for surgery in the States. I have thought of surgery outside the States. However, I don't want to go to India! Are there any alternatives?
Thanks! Heather

you can also go to mexico, the same company offers both. its about $ 8000.

if you are unisurd and do not qualify for medicare see if your state has a co pay type of insurance. my state nevada does. you get the insurance and they negotiate the prices for you.

i would not go to either mexico or india.

above is a link i came accross.

The most popular destinations for major surgery, about 600,000 last year, are Thailand, India, a few EU countries, to a lesser extent my adopted home of Russia. Mexico is most popular for denistry. According to web site scans, prices in India run about $15,000 for a THR. My THR is $6000+ in St Petersburg. France for $14,000, Thailand $10,000
