I am interested in bicycling but cannot find a bike that keeps my knees at the 90 degree angle or more. I am slightly shorter than 5 ft tall. My bike is 26" and even though it is a "girls" bike, the bar is too high for me now and when I peddle my knee comes up to high. Any suggestions?

I moved your post into it's own thread, ja. It will probably get more input that way.

Hey Jao,

First, since you are just under 5', I would suggest going to Wal-Mart, and looking at 20" bmx bikes, they have a great selection, the price is right, and at your height, I'd stay away from a 26". I am 5'11, and on my OS advice, I don't intend to run or jog, but I can get (so can you) the aerobic and conditioning you need from biking. I have a 26" bike, not too tall for me, and next week (5 weeks post op LTHR) I intend to start biking a bit, gradually increasing. Don't give up on biking, I expect it will be an excellent therapy and strength trainer! I assume you have a Wal-Mart nearby? They're EVERYWHERE! Also, if you DO find a 20" bike you like, and it's a tad low on the angle you put your knees in relation to your pelvis during upswing on peddaling, try raising the seat up higher. You can always buy a longer seat post if the one it comes with doesn't quite cut it.
