Love this website!!!
i too am posting this question for my mothr. 68 suffering from failing 14 year hip replacement. needs to be redone. need a good surgeon. will travel if absolutely necessary. are there surgeons out there who can do it. original surgeon died some a few years ago.
HELP!!! PAINFUL!!!

I'm 55 and had a THR in 1988. It's been 19 years and the lining has worn and slips when I walk. It is a frightening feeling (the slippage), especially because I've had dislocations before and know how painful that is.

My other hip has been very painful for 10 years and I've finally found a surgeon who will help me. My original surgeon retired years ago. So, now I have to get one hip revised- probably a new lining, and the other hip replaced.

The surgeon wants to do one at a time, but I'm trying to convince him to do both. My surgery date (for which hip I don't know) is set for April 16. Dr. Bear has a very good reputation here in Santa Fe, NM.
