@Snoopy55
You are so supportive to other members and thank you for that...but it is good to see a report on your progress.
Walking around a mile to 2 miles a day which is still not much and going to PT twice a week. I decided that I would scale my PT down to one time per week as I have had some flare ups in the past few sessions as we have been putting more and more pressure on the muscles and my soft tissues are still not completely healed so I end up feeling sore and uncomfortable the day after PT which ruins the next few days
I think at 4 months post hip pinning, 2 miles per day sounds like plenty as you strengthen and tone Safely and Incrementally.
This coming week we will be at the beach for a week and I will do nothing but walk and see how I feel. If I feel well enough to increase my walking I will cancel all my upcoming PT appointments and just continue to walk longer.
The sand walks will definitely be a workout as muscles and tendons have to work harder vs walking on a hard surface so try not to overdo.
The main thing I remember at this point in my hip recovery is that it never seems too much until we stop.

I love the ocean and the salt air...makes my spirit happy!
I still cannot come down the stairs the regular way as it is too much on the hip
I still toddler stepped downstairs and held railings if possible for up to six months post op.
The gluteus medius engages for stability, and it took months for me to regain the strength (and confidence) and we do not need a fall, right?
I know it seems like forever, but it will come in time.
I just don't want to end up with chronic hip pain at 54.
Right, that is why you are trying to stay patient.
My BTHR was 3 months before my 54th birthday.
I felt infirmed and anxious during recovery, but where I was at 4 months certainly wasn't the same at 6-9-12 months....its that old patience and time thing again.
I guess I will try the no PT route for this week and let you all know how I am feeling
I think this is a good idea.
Will be looking out for your update.
