TKR Here we go again

I've been reading through posts as I prepare for my second tkr in January.
I was originally scheduled for 9/28/22 and postponed because I was terrified, too. That and the timing didn't work out for me. Mostly terrified LOL
Losing weight won't help your knee enough if you're bone on bone. It might help with your recovery, but who knows.
We're both going to be fine. We have this forum to support each other. It was a blessing during my first tkr. We had a fun bunch back then and we can recreate that.
You know what to expect. Yes, its rough in the early days of recovery, but so worth it.
I'm ready to get it over with to enjoy the Spring and summer months.

It’s amazing how you can delude yourself into thinking you don’t need surgery. I even tried to get into a clinical trial, they wouldn’t take me because of the extensive damage.
The thought of it isn’t nice but I guess it has to be done.
You’re right we’ve got this!!!!

You're right about deluding yourself. In Feb I went to see a shoulder specialist in the same practice as my knee surgeon. Shoulder had been very painful for several years. Figured I'd get a cortisone shot and be on my way. Nope.
Bone on bone with a big spur. Must be replaced.
Next day was knee doc. He said I had to have shoulder replacement before he could touch the knee.
Wasn't ready to hear any of it.
I've accepted my fate, but it took awhile LOL
We have to get the knees done.
No choices at this point.
So, I'm going to enjoy the upcoming holidays and not stress over the knee.
